The Covid-19 pandemic has dramatically reshaped the global economic environment and financial priorities, exposing fragilities in the business and financial world. However, it has also provided opportunities for innovation in the use of financial instruments and grants.
Indeed, financial instruments such as loans, guarantees and equity bring with them opportunities for public-private partnerships, paving the way for catalysing private capital into impactful investments. On the other hand, EU grants can provide the necessary support to rebuild and implement new business models in times of uncertainty. A combination of the above can deploy the advantages offered by both tools, which has the potential to become a very effective funding mechanism for the recovery plan of European regions, SMEs and entrepreneurs. That, however, is only part of the picture. There is another category of investment beyond traditional investments that is becoming increasingly accessible to all types of investors and industry professionals, especially regional entrepreneurs and professionals. Following the previous edition of Agorada + in 2020, this high-level international conference, combined with the capitalisation of the finMED INTERREG MED project, aims to be a forum where regional development practitioners and finance experts can exchange best practices, transfer knowledge, and discuss innovative financial measures and instruments to re-accelerate an economy severely damaged by the undesirable effects of the pandemic and ensure long-term sustainable business growth.
AGORADA + 2021 is structured as a two-day conference. The event will be held in person in the city of Valencia and is organised collaboratively by IVACE, ADR Forum and EURADA. AGORADA + 2021 is currently combined with the finMED Conference, a key activity in the project's capitalisation plan. The outline of the two-day discussion will be:
