The sandblasted effect is currently achieved by shot blasting to project sand-like particles or by mechanical etching (milling) to remove the silver and corrosion protection layers of the mirror and produce a translucent window, that is, to let the light pass through.
HOW COULD WE...?
We are familiar with laser DEFROSTING/ETCHING/ENGRAVING processes and believe that the technology may be mature enough to invest. We are looking for a technology that allows us to automate the process that does not require the recycling of water, as in the case of sandblasting. In addition, we are looking for more sustainable, processes, with lower defect rates (scrap) and flexible.
